Ugh how is it OK for interviewers to be late but if it's the other way around we're automatically seen as unprofessional and not a great fit anymore for the role 😑

Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?

I keep hearing how great this job market is yet, despite years of high-profile, award winning work, I can’t get a recruiter (that I actually have relationships with) to even call me back or respond to a simple follow up email. It’s beyond frustrating.

How do you slow down an interview process that’s moving way too fast? Had one initial chat, now they want to call me for ‘final stage’ 48 hours later. Can consultants share their experience with on cycle recruiting?
For example: How did you escape work for the interviews at last minute notice? How much notice did you get before interviews? How long did on cycle last? How many firms did you interview at and how many rounds of interviews per firm? Etc.

The job title said 'Team Lead - Angular / DB /C#' , but during the interview, panel mentioned that team is more into data analytics.
