Can I keep my Vanguard brokerage and cash management account open and continue to trade if I leave usa permanently and move to India as Indian citizen ?

No you can't.
Reason being that Vanguard only works in the US. the moment you change location you will loose access to it. No matter your citizenship. It's only limited to the US. You can use decentralised broker like trademegastocks. Com that allows you to move your funds anywhere and anyhow from crypto to stocks and all at anytime time and any country.

funny

I’d double check re location. I vaguely remember not being able to trade or access my 401K account because I was in a different country.

D1- Can you please give more info on this a link or reference? Or you have assumed this?

If you plan to use a US address and file taxes I wouldn’t see why not, but agree with EY1 - ask Vanguard. I’m a US citizen and planning to move to another country. I’ll leave most money here (that’s the current plan) as I only plan to be gone for a few years. There isn’t an issue as long as I do a tax return. My citizenship may be the difference.

Hoping to be gone for about 5 yrs. I always wanted to live in another country and now seems like as good a time as any.

Hey y’all. I went through an exceptionally traumatizing experience a few years ago that has totally & utterly shattered my confidence, self worth, self esteem etc. I have a hard time portraying my work experience + deserving of a new role.

Loan payment question. I have two federal loans. One has no accumulated interest and is ~$110k. One has about $19k of accumulated interest (I previously made an embarrassingly low amount of money), but the total is ~$140k. While the interest is still frozen, do I: 1) make payments on the $110k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 2) make payments on the $140k principal amount only to maximize driving it down; 3) make payments on the $19k of interest on the $140k loan; or 4) ??

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. My cash flow analysis has a payback period of 3 years for my down payment and a 13 year payback period for the whole investment. I think financially it makes sense. My question is, is it realistic for a 25 year old young professional to handle dealing with all the extra curricular’s that come with owning a rental property ?

$530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?

Any accountant recommendations in NYC? Looking for someone who understands the travel situation of consultants, etc. TIA!

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

I have fidelity for my 401k, would they be good to open a taxable investment account with, or are there better options?
