I worked/billed a ton last week and Monday and Tuesday this week, and then today I didn’t have any meetings or anything and just hit a brick wall - I slept until 10am and just dealt with accumulating non-billable stuff for almost all of the day. Now I feel terrible about it. How do you keep going? I feel awful about today and have such dread about all that I have to do tomorrow 😭 I’m in a new practice area and am super grateful for the work, but the learning curve is hard and I’m struggling!
I just started practicing and I get anxious before some hearings, which can sometimes throw off my train of thought. Looking for tips on how to control anxiety in the courtroom.

How do you deal with a partner who is counterproductive and seems to derail progress rather than move forward? For example, doesn’t respond to emails, doesn’t know details of case and can’t/won’t draft documents.
What platform or consulting firm would you recommend to help a company build out a new and improved onboarding process that emphasizes on training in the IT space (Manage Service Provider)? Once the orientation with HR is completed and the hand off of the new hire to the manger takes place is gap in proper training on the role ans technology's (sales and IT dept). The new management team has been in place for for over a year. Nothing has ever been in place prior for them to work off of
Currently an HRBP who got back from Mat leave April 2022. Came back to a new manager who I know from before Mat leave. While I was away, another hrbp was hired so now theres three hrbps in the business group I support. My manager is having a hard time developing me and her focus is on the new hrbp and doesn’t always involve me in things. Sends me things here and there if she doesn’t want to bug the other hrbp with easier things so I’m feeling left out. If i rely on her for my development…
No word from my recruiter in a week after discussing places to apply to - is this a reasonable amount of time to assume nothing came of it and to find another recruiter?
Do you guys remember doing character and fitness? I didn't have any issues with it but apparently the bar association can contact your landlord?
I remember questioning how they could even obtain some of the stuff they are asking for if you were not forthcoming. For instance, how would they know if you've been civilly sued if that's not always public information or how would they know if you are current on your taxes?
Tips for dealing with an absentee partner? My practice group consists of one fairly well known partner who has spent maybe 30 hours total in the office over the past 3 years. There are no other partners or senior associates in the group to turn to.
The partner is constantly traveling (unclear why) and works exclusively from their phone. The biggest struggle is getting timely responses and any meaningful level of feedback. The lack of guidance is taking a toll. Help!
Any insight on transitioning from generalist litigation practice to the FTC or a regional office of same? Looking for more fulfillment and ideally to specialize in my legal practice which is currently just general litigation.

Sooooo I told the partners at my firm I wanted to get some exposure to a different practice area because I’m not loving what I do. Not abandoning my current team at all, but looking to start exploring a different practice area where there’s a need right now. It’s a small firm. “We didn’t hire you for that. We get you want to grow, but this is where you’re staying.” On the one hand, I get it. On the other hand, kind of shitty, right? Or am I wrong here?
I started about 6 months ago in a new position in a smaller town/city. I recently ran into a partner at an firm that does primarily ID. We chatted and they extended a soft offer which would equate to about a 37% base raise and the opportunity for bonuses. It’s a small community and I don’t want to tarnish my reputation early on in my career, but the increase in pay makes me think I it would be absurd for me to stay. Thoughts? I was considering talking to my current boss to get their opinion…
People who have done (or know of people who have done) secondments: Have you had or heard of any bad experiences? I’ve been seeing mostly positive posts with doing secondments, but would appreciate any insight on bad experiences. Please share size of organization and industry. Thanks!

I have been having a lot of trouble connecting with people the past couple of years. I try but haven’t made a good friend in years and many I had moved away or drifted apart. Not sure if this has anything to do with medication or just the direction I am heading in life. Has medication made anyone feel socially isolated/alienated?
What have you found most helpful in training up a very green junior brand planner or junior strategist? Any particular trainings or resources that are great at teaching foundational skills? I’ll be pulling them into projects and teaching through doing but I need some assistance in building up their core skills/training the strategy muscle.
