What are other ways to get out of law aside from legal recruiting? I have insurance defense (MVA and first party property) and labor and employment law experience. Do not want to work for an insurance company. Not sure what my other options would be.

It’s mostly a question of what you actually want to do, because with your background you have lots of options. I have an article on my site that lists all the careers my former lawyer podcast guests have transitioned in to (there are over 70 at this point). You can find it under the blog tab.

Could be anything really. I am a client relations manager and manage the client relationships of 5 of my firms biggest clients. I work very closely with our biggest rainmakers and have frequent contact with in house counsel.

You could help work on pitches since you understand the business and legal terminology. You could work on competitive intelligence or new business opportunities/initiatives. Lots of possibilities.

You’d most likely take a paycut in the short term, but could end up making attorney level money in these roles.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
