I take it you were a W2 employee and not a 1099 consultant? This happens all the time in the operations consulting world.
Did they give you a chance to explain?
I think we have a crisis of leadership. We have people who are more interested in their pay check than their company’s long term viability and stability. We think leadership looks like dominance instead of listening and collaboration.
Yep! Sometimes they hire help just to say they did! Promoting change in an organization is half the battle
I could write that same thing 2x for companies that I worked for in the last 3 years. Second stint was longer because they were open to the “cheap” improvements but the rest is the same. Key is to ask more questions earlier in process interviewing to avoid repeating a mistake like I did.
I believe they have heard you.
Either they are close minded and refused to consider the whole concept by shutting it down..or..they heard enough to add and redesign your idea into their own and make an effort to incorporate it. Never let anyone shut you down from attempting to speak out about any of your ideas in the future or using your creative thinking and problem solving skills because you may just have a brilliant solution to the right people at the right time. Getting let go is not good. I am so sorry that happened to you.
Happens all the time.
Likely have no experience in supply chain. Or think it’s a clerks job. Most managers are boomers. They only care about making to retirement and collecting their company pensions. Just going through the motions. Even Government supply chains are all paper pushers. Zero experience in real world procurement.
They heard you completely. Problem is you may have challenged someone high up and exposed them. You came in to do a job. You meant well but toxic company cultures is a problem in the majority of US companies. It's 50-50 at best new employees last past the 90 day probation period. I see job postings for supply chain again and again by the same companies that have so much turnover. So many jobs are dead end.
