Toxic. Partner group has serious issues. Design is ok, but change and pm is hot dumpster fire mess.
Do a search on past threads and see what comes up under TD and Transformation Delivery. Just watch out and re-sort the response so they’re chronological. KPMG invests more in reputation management than in doing the right thing. The admins of the bowl pinned answers that say everything is great, but the reactions and comments when you read the chronological thread tell you a better and more accurate story.

I'm in TD currently and while you have to live and breathe change and pmo to find it super interesting it's very relaxed in all the groups I've been in and I find that most people are fun and helpful. I may not make McKinsey money but my wlb is super chill
Yep couldnt agree more with you. Best place if you wanna hone your skills on project and change management. They are very relevant to all transformation and you can always try to build expertise on a particular domain.
I’ll answer your question. You asked about the culture. The culture is great overall. Respectful of WLB. There are large transformations that require more burn than others at times, but that’s consulting.

Because project management is a core consulting skill, yet we have a group that only does PM. But we can all do it. So you all don’t make a lot of sense

Transformation delivery/change management/PMO doesn’t provide jack **** to transformation projects. Leave it at that. Search for other threads that reflect the same sentiment.
Our TD group specifically Change Management are leaders in the field compared to our competition. You can look that up. So perhaps you are just incapable of working together with them and that’s why your experience is bad
Thanks everyone for your insights. I did a lot of homework on this thru both my own network and The Bowl and on balance the consensus seems to be that the Transformation Delivery group is very much a work in progress. Feedback from inside that I got was on balance good but a statistically significant chance of life becoming a living hell quickly if you have bad project leadership or one of the more psycho partners in your management chain. And D level (my offer) getting a majority of the responsibility for picking up workload of those resigning to go elsewhere. So overall direct intel was more positive than here, but did back up some of your negative warning. Net result: I ended up taking a competitive offer, not so much because of the “toxicity” warnings here as the 15% better comp the other firm was offering.

If the offer provides good comp, take it!! Otherwise, your miles will vary in terms of wlb
From the intranet, it sounds like they do a lot of change management?
K9 is that the general perception of the function, or your personal experience? Or both?
But to be fair, if you’re at the D level - it sounds like a very cush job in the consulting world. Which I would not judge if that’s the route you are looking for

Ok so it solely depends on if you are ok with job searching again after like 8 months. It’s fine to try this but don’t be shocked if you want to leave and let yourself do so.

Also, I recently got approached by a couple of KPMG recruiters and between the interactions and what’s stated here by multiple folks sounds like it’s a pretty toxic place worse than D currently. I was thinking of moving forward but now having second thoughts. The role is a director role which is the other question to this group as in what does that entail?
Deloitte culture is much more toxic than KPMG and it’s not even close
I continue to be amazed that people make career decisions based on rando posts from people they don’t know on an app. There is nothing here that gives you any indication of what it would be like relative to Deloitte, unless I missed a post comparing the two. Thus their “toxic” could be Nirvana relative to what you’re used to.
Do you really not know anyone at KPMG you could speak with directly? Friend of a friend?
