Oh, I think there’s a long way to go before I’d agree with that clickbait headline. This snapshot? Sure. Maybe. But a house in Orlando is like $250-$500k and that’ll get you a parking space in SF. And, there is significant room to sprawl from Orlando and find cheaper housing, whereas SF is already saturated.
I’d also wager that goods and services are still way, way, way cheaper in Orlando.

I understand, but average wages vs rent is just one metric on how costly a place is. Orlando still has lower grocery prices, service prices, taxes etc.
not that you’d catch me dead in Orlando...but I know that in HCOL places everything goes up to meet the new real estate costs bc everyone starts to need more income to support themselves. So this blip is just that. If it lasts, salaries and goods and services will go up as well. Right now it’s just a blip.
So basically Orlando has become an even worse place to live. Good to know
