Talking about the impact of covid on family life is big in our community, but politics is strictly prohibited. Just the mention of covid when certain members are around and it turns to politics. Time to ban covid talk completely?

I feel like working from home has been the death of my dating life. I used to at least go on 4 dates a month, and I was casually seeing a guy for a while. Post covid, I love my work-life balance but I'm never out. I can't meet people sitting at my desk, and I have no local coworkers to pull me out of the house for happy hour.

Has any firm in Canada reverted back from salary freezes during Covid? Aka gone back to pre-COVID salary bands. This question may be more for the strategy shops....I.e. I heard S& in the US is giving people raises in January to meet pre-COVID bands (but don’t know if this is happening in PwC). What are people seeing in Canada?

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Anyone else feel like filing for telephonic appearance so the insurance company can save a buck isn’t going to sit well with judges who prefer in person attendance? I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

I need advice about Zoom. Is it easier to have a zoom link with your personal Id or a simple generated one? I have completed my B.Tech. on 2020 and got a job in an MNC with a 3.8LPA, but due to COVID, the onboarding was delayed to Feb 2021. During this time, I had enrolled myself for a distance M.Tech. degree.
I recently joined a new company with a 10.1LPA a month back.
Just two weeks back, my M.Tech. degree is completed.
Should I have some increment in my new company as to my M.Tech. completion?

I have been offered a position on Senior Consultant/ Deputy Manager at Deloitte India for 4.5 years of exp.

Is this position/role normal for years of experience I hold?

I have two offers in hand. KPMG and Deloitte. CTC is almost same whereas variable is more in KPMG. I am inclined towards Deloitte India. But HR in KPMG told me that I won't be able to join KPMG India in future as I accepted their offer. I informed her within 2 weeks and didn't do anything for onboarding. I didn't ask to increase the amount or JB and I strongly believe I informed early so they can look for other candidates. Is this bluff? Any HR here to clarify

Primarily due to low pay, and management issues. Given this, any company recs that have a solid foundation with digital media? Any advice from people who’ve been on both the agency and branded side?

Do you think independent agencies will be in better shape to handle COVID-related client budget reductions and/or losses?
