I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

What has to happen to a person to make them completely devoid of empathy?
That’s technically one of, if not the main trait of being a sociopath, and lack of empathy something that, say, serial killers all have in common.
And yes I’m saying that some people I’ve worked for in advertising have about as much empathy as serial killers.😂

That’s as about as brilliant as when a certain agency’s vendor accidentally sent out Cobra packages over Xmas break to everyone they were planning to lay off at the end of January.
Then of course in January someone accidentally sent out the “good people hate to see them go but we need to focus on the road ahead” email in the early afternoon while people were still getting laid off. 🤦♂️
😳 Reminds me of time the time I worked at a small agency as an art director. I asked for a raise to 60K, he said, “that’s a lot of money, no”. Next week he bought a lake house.
Having worked there for a little bit I can tell you that CEO is (all their “leaders” really are) a total do-nothing buffoon who’s probably collecting near 8 figures to run the place into the dirt. And when, not if, when they lose one of the two last accounts keeping the lights on (Infiniti) the simmering dumpster will finally, officially be engulfed in flames.
I doubt close to 8 figures. Those are holding company c suite dollars.
What a fall for a legendary agency
Ralph is/was a truly talented designer and art director, but utterly abysmal and completely miscast “chief creative officer”
It’s astonishing how far they’ve fallen.
Sad but true.
Now that Alex is gone, again, who’s running creative over there?

Alexa.
Sadly, I know for a fact that there were several useless voids there making big money $500k-$800k to basically do nothing and drive the place into the mud. I mean, THEY haven’t been the ones taking pay cuts “for the team” to temporarily delay more layoffs...
