Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Hedge funds are a tough place to make it too, but the exit opps are amazing, even on the tech side. One of the reputable funds cuts their bottom 10% of performers every year, so don't go into it thinking it'll be gravy and the politics won't be there. The best part is that they make money no matter which way the market goes
The over generalizations above is astounding. Use some god damned critical thinking folks. No, not all HFs are better than Consulting. And OP's success there will depend on very different factors/strengths. That being said, even if OP hates it/can't make it, having a reputable or interesting HF on your resume is a differentiator, and will help make jumps around the financial space and/or back into consulting
Take take take.
Fucking take it and take me with you
^will he?! 🤔 hedge fund seems pretty lucrative.
D3 is off his rocker. GTFO out of this house of cards dude, don't be an idiot
Is this even a question?
No, take it.
Take
If nothing else, you spend two years there, hate it, and come back to consulting as an asset management expert at a huge premium
Thanks FB fam - will keep you guys posted! They are building a team there so I'll get those referrals ready for y'all!!
Doesn't sound like you're in the revenue generating part tho? Is this tech dept at hedge fund?
Won't put out the name - but it's a top hedge fund (been around since the 80's)

You can always boomerang or jump back into a different consulting firm if you don't like it. All about your short vs long term goals and risk appetite
You'll make more money at Deloitte in the long run, but you have to decide if it's worth the personal cost.
@D3 will you? Who knows if OP has a knack for the markets he could have his own fund in 10 years and clean all of our clocks
@pwc1 consulting is maddening, look at all the psycho posts on this app. I doubt the HF FB forum has this many complainers, if there even is one
Catch is - I would be a Tech Associate, so not really going to make crazy money on bonuses. Still take it?
Definitely take it. I can be your second referral after EY1...
