I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

1. Do you like the team, department, and company you’re moving to?
2. Is this the industry you want to be in?

It doesn’t sound very compelling unless it is a strong YES to the questions above. You’re taking this to move to a role you don’t want with the hopes that you might be able to move to something you do want - but it will probably take at least 1 - 2 years for that to happen, if it does at all. I’m pretty wary of those promises of moving to something else once you land at a company because I rarely see anyone be able to keep those promises. Probably better to exit directly to what you want.
That’s a lateral move at best with less clear progression path. I would stay put until you have an offer with a 10%+ base increase.
