Turnips are 132 for me
Hi everyone! The Environmental Education Collaborative in Southern California is hosting an online symposium Feb 25-28 (after school and weekend hours) and we would love to have you. Our topics this year include Justice, Literacy and Wellness. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be leading a "Bob Ross" style painting session on the Wellness day that teaches the steps of the water cycle while incorporating SEL strategies. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2021-environmental-education-symposium

I grew up in San Diego, feel free to pm with specific questions.
Born & raised here, now own a home and live by the beach w my husband (I’m 30, he’s 34). We made it a point to live walking distance from the beach so that we can take advantage of living in this city we adore.
Good: if you’re coming for the outdoor activities, you’re coming to the right place! It’s beautiful and temperate 90% of the time. In my experience, people are typically friendly. Like any other place, you’ll need to find your people, but there are plenty of ways to do that. Join a volleyball league, yoga studio, climbing gym - whatever you’re into. You’ll make friends 😊
Bad: if you want to avoid broey culture, stay the f out of PB and don’t spend too much time in the downtown night scene. I don’t consider surfing culture broey because it’s far too varied, and in general just chill. Beach towns are the best (but most expensive) places to live and hang.
Ugly: homelessness has gotten worse in the last couple years. Some beach cities actively shoo them out (a whole other level of issues there) but those will be the priciest (Del Mar, La Jolla). Also not sure if your political, but San Diego is particularly divided compared to much of SoCal. I’m liberal & this isn’t a big issue for me personally - have plenty of friends on both sides of the aisle. But I’ve known people who care a lot about this.

If by outdoor activities you mean the beach SD is great, but the mountains are far from SD if that’s what you’re looking for. Why not LA or SF? Less broey and closer to mountains.
Sorry you’re right D2. Just checked with my husband - 2.5-3 hrs is what it takes him. He goes far more than I do 🙃
