Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

Hi,
I have joined ACTI a month back in Kolkata in L9. I wanted to opt for Company Car Lease policy just to save TAX but finding it too complicated.
I had raised queries to payrole and they have replied with a suggestion to think twice before opting for this benifit.
What do you all suggest, who have already opted for it?Accenture

This is a tough one. I’d usually say go to the dream agency or else you wouldn’t have applied and you’ll always wonder if you would be happier.
But the move requirement and flat salary in a more expensive city makes that a more difficult financial choice.
For me, I’d go for it. But if you stay, don’t beat yourself up for not leaving because the logic says don’t
I really appreciate that. Definitely makes me feel like my complicated feelings over it all are valid.
Going through something similar right now. Before I woulda said F it and went. But with inflation/recession, moving from the midwest to an expensive coastal city is tough to stomach

Tricky situation, but I will say that it’s a game changer living in an advertising hub city like nyc or sf. So much more long term career opportunities. I moved from Houston to nyc six years ago and never looked back.
Have you asked for a review 6 months into the job? Could be a good way to get a salary bump later down the road to make it worth it to move.
Does the city appeal to you outside of the job? I’d say desired lifestyle should play a role in your decision. Also, even if the salary is lateral, you can negotiate other benefits that may make it worth it to you like additional PTO, health benefits, etc.! Though may have already explored that negotiation.
One more question to consider, would the dream agency look kickass on a resume and open new doors for you within the next 1-2 years at other places where comp may be more competitive?
No matter what go with your gut :) there’s no wrong answer
