🙌🙌🙌 finally ill start poppin out a new kid a year for that paid vaca time
Omg, taking care of a newborn is anything but a vacation, but I get your point. 31 year old female here. If this is true, I will be thrilled and we'll plan to start to have a baby sooner
They sent an email to everyone at the firm like 2 months ago about this
Ironically after letting go hundreds of people....
If men don't take paternity leave for fear that it will negatively impact their career, then the policy might feel sexist. To some extent, should maternity/paternity leave be mandatory when a child is born?
I am joining Deloitte.
Yet our 401k match is still shit
OP- did you just read an article on this? If so, please share. My understanding was that our family leave policy was essentially our maternity leave one, but if this is true, I will be SO happy!
@D1 I was just watching CNN right now. I'm not sure what this is a change from but that's what I saw your Snr Partner say.
I think that would be the 16 weeks 'family' leave. Certainly does make it an attractive place to work. I'd love to take some more time off after my wife gives birth. I can imagine the culture will take some time to truly champion and adopt this though
Didn't we do this last year
That seems like it would be worth the switch as I start thinking of having a family.
Old news. It's also good for if you need to take time off to care for parents or siblings, which is nice for those that are single or will never have kids.
Just now? Isn't that one year of paid leave if you are a woman who just had a baby? Yahoo!!!
Yay! Thanks for sharing! So happy! I'd love to watch the clip sometime. I do feel like this is smart business
What about paternity leave
Good point. The good news is that I have seem at least 5 people (combo of men and women) take the full 4 months since it was introduced about 4 months ago. No questions asked and everyone was supportive
What D5 said
Am I am reading this right- the six months of paid maternity leave is in addition to the four months of paid maternity leave? BA1- you are completely right. The great thing is that I know of at least three men who have taken the full amount of paternity leave and were very supported. It is a beautiful thing.
