Absolutely
Wow I am surprised by this
If they make it to partner level it can go higher but the amount of actuaries that get ground out with 1 or 2 exams is way high. And those are 60k jobs. A friend of mine graduated a semester before me into an actuarial role making 62k, he still isn’t certified and is at 75 while I’ve gotten to 115.
Actuaries in consulting companies generally make more than non actuaries. Actuaries in insurance companies usually dont make more than consultants.
1000000%
Depends. I make more than my SO who just became an FSA but he has a chill job and doesn’t want to get into management
Pro
As actuaries no as data scientists it’s on par except at higher levels where consulting wins but typically wlb is much better in ds roles
Actuaries in insurance companies can make 250k with 5 years of work experience. FSA designation. And good benefits.
So probably no.
Consultants make way more so I wasn't really arguing that point.
