Do any of you occasionally make small mistakes doing your job (ie: typos, incorrectly presenting a piece of data, formatting error, etc) ?

I am confident in my skills to do this job, but occasionally slip up. I am learning to give myself grace for minor mistakes, as I can be quite hard on myself. But I’m wondering if these occasional mistakes are stopping me from getting a promotion. Do I have to be more “perfect” to achieve a promotion? :/

I have had to learn the hard way that there is no such thing as perfect and everyone makes little mistakes. Typos are embarrassing but they don't make me any less competent at my job. Don't let perfect keep you from doing great work! Give yourself the grace to make little harmless mistakes everyone makes them even the higher ups!

I'm really bad with typos. Even when I proofread over and over, I miss mistakes because my brain just reads it as I mean it. I downloaded Grammarly to my computer help me out.

Does your leadership ever give feedback about your typos? You're not a robot so there should be some grace for you to make mistakes. My advice for you would be to look over everything over and over again.

No, I haven’t received feedback about it 👍
