Yes, detectives often work in pairs. Two are often able to work together better than one. If two people don't work well together, it's in everyone's best interest for them to stop working together.
They definitely do work in pairs typically, but the way that Hollywood portrays it is not always the case. Hollywood always shows detective pairs as having this amazing friendship build over the course of the investigation and I think that is exaggerated quite a bit.
That's what I'm thinking. There's no way every pair can be BFFs, haha
For my agency, it depends on the case and where you’re at in the case. You may grab someone or a preferred buddy for subject or witness interviews or other tasks. For big surveillance or warrant operations, you ask for volunteers as needed. You may work a case with another agency, find you work well with an agent/investigator with that agency, and decide to keep working cases together. Pretty much it’s up to you.
yes they do work together but sometimes/certain cases you do not need buddy buddy investigators
No, not necessarily. There's investigative work that only requires one office. That's just hollywood for you unless you're Jake Peralta so you definitely need an Amy Santiago. hahaha
Yes they usually work in pairs and it usually assigned although they can give their two cents about who they want to work with
