Do you ever factor PTO into your job decisions now? I remember when PTO actually went toward vacations, but these days most of mine disappears into kids’ appointments and weekday errands. It’s wild how “time off” slowly turned into “time to catch up on life.” Do you try to negotiate for more PTO, or is it something you weigh heavily when comparing offers?

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.
