I need some help and advice! I have a new intern from Europe and he is related to higher ups! He is very dismissive and overlooks anything I say, arguing thy he doesn’t agree with what I’m asking him to do! Completely closed to learning! He goes behind my back, lying and throwing me under the bus! What should I do? I’m completely lost, since this is the first time I have someone this rude at work! What should I do?

How do you deal with making mistakes at work? I’ve been doing good work lately but there’s one partner who thinks I’m mistake prone and I just made a mistake on something he asked me to do, but I corrected it quickly. However, there is public record of my mistake.

15 YOE, recently started my first tech PR job at a large, stable company & have been asked to get ~20 SMEs in front of media. Subject matter is not sexy. I lead PR for all of U.S. & have no other PR colleagues. My agency’s budget is 100k/year & they’re spread too thin to hit their KPIs. I feel set up to fail & feel we should be focusing on a handful of SMEs and only our sexiest topics. Any advice on mitigating unrealistic expectations for coverage? So I joined IBM 5 months back, was on bench for this long and got project just a week back.

My PSP and People Manager have been kind of lenient, cooperative and kind to me because I was never told I will be put in PIP, I have to enter project not matching my skillset etc etc.

Is it wise to appreciate both of them via blue points for their support?

Not sure if this is the right place, but in a privately owned business located in a right to work state, is verbal abuse allowed and would swearing at and putting down an employee in front of a bunch of other employees and in front of customers be deemed verbal abuse? Can owners demand you work a certain amount of hours a week if it’s 100% commission?

What do I do if I’ve only worked one job (the one I’m currently at) and another company is asking for references? I could do professors from college but not sure if that’s a good idea. I wish I could give my current manager’s contact but I don’t want her knowing :/

Currently in audit and want to switch to transaction services. I’m a senior now and an offer from accounting advisory just came in. I tried applying to TAS but no returns from it. Will it be easier to switch to TAS from accounting advisory?

Which advisory group has the least travel out of AAS, FDD/TAS, and risk advisory? Or is it all dependent on the client and team nowadays? And is the travel schedule comparable to consulting? (ex. M-Th on a plane)

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry.
