I got a verbal offer from ACN two weeks ago, and the recruiter told me I could expect a written offer in a few days. I haven’t receive it by now…followed up with the recruiter today, and she told me hopefully I will get it over the weekend or by Monday. Is this normal? Should I be worried? The recruiter told me they really wanted me and the team has a lot of projects lining up and I really like the team..Accenture
Hi Fishes
A bit off topic but relevant.
Did anyone hear abt TekFog & Persistent Systems Limited ? Did they develop it ? What's going on ? I wanted to apply (location preference) but am worried now if company is into these sort of unethical activities even more so if they don't even know about it.
Does anyone has any insights into it beyond the company blog post claiming they are not involved. Also how is the work culture there, are these sort things even believable for such company ?

I am looking for two new teachers (0-5 years) who would be interested in participating in a study I am doing as a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor. The study looks to understand the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and explore their resilience. If you are interested, click the link below to get started: bit.ly/ShameResilienceStudy

None of the other content areas deal with emotions and feelings the way English does. Social studies, math, science… None of them have the variable of emotion injected into them. That is why one kid’s answer about something could be wildly different than another kid’s answer… And both could be absolutely correct. And giving students a way to explore their own feelings through the lens of literature is huge.
I think the activities definitely lend themselves to it more fluidly. My students reflect and connect to text in writing and discussion so there is a lot of "This reminds me of when I..." or "I understand this character because..."
And then I respond back in a comment.
As an elementary sped teacher, I teach social/emotional health just as much, if not more, than the major academic subject areas.

I feel it’s shared but depending on the time that other teachers have and their ability to open up and create culture around SEL it depends. I taught English and I feel it fell on us due to logistics, we just had more time in our block.
SEL should be a cross-class/school-wide shared experience though.
Of course. This is why we English teachers are far more likely to be loved or hated by our students. When a gun gets pulled in a classroom, it’s most likely to be that of an English teacher — because what we teach touches them more personally and powerfully than any other core subject.
