Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I signed up to mentor via this: https://www.legalmentornetwork.org/. It's worked out well. Time commitment is super minimal. I zoom with my mentee maybe 30-45 minutes quarterly. As someone else mentioned, up to you and your mentee to set up a cadence that works for you both.
As much or as little time as you want. Could be an hour or 2 every 6 months. Could be multiple hours a week. Just set your boundaries and availability upfront.
You can check the local diverse bar organizations and local subject matter bar orgs. For example, I’ve had mentees through CLEO, the local Hispanic bar, and local IP bar
I would love to be a mentor as well. I’m a male POC. Any recs where to look? NYC tri state area.
Futures and Options is a great organization. They’re located in NYC. They works with molding and shaping high school students and preparing them for the world. They always need help.
I mentor many people through formal or informal channels and I love it. The time commitment is not bad at all.
Yes. I volunteer with Big Sister/Big Brother through their one on one mentoring program. You are required to meet with your Little Sister/Brother a my least twice a month for an outing that's typically between 1-3 hours.
