Got a verbal offer from Grant Thornton. The recruiter told me that they would get the paperwork over by Thursday or Friday. I mentioned that I am strongly considering the firm however I have other companies that I am also considering so I will be making my decision based on that. The recruiter then mentioned that I’ll likely have 3 days to respond after the offer is given. Is this normal? What should I do? Can I ask for an extension?

When taking an exam for the cpa, is it done on a computer with a keyboard with a numpad and you do all your calculations on an onscreen calculator? Or is it done pencil and paper? Trying to decide on a new personal laptop and wondering if I should get one with a numpad to get used to punching in numbers or just a small one without it.

I've submitted my latest paper to the largest journal in my field, but it's taking forever for them to review it. I feel like they're just stalling me because they don't want to publish it. Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

Soon to be graduating from an MBA, and won't be able to attend a graduation ceremony or grad party - is it something life changing that I'll be missing out on?

I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. Should I even bother applying when there are more than 100 applications?
