Cushman & Wakefield Interested in a Sales Associate position at Cushman & Wakefield. I have experience as a government analyst for 7 years but nothing related to commercial real estate. I want to become a more competitive applicant but not sure where to start. Are there any certificates, skills, or knowledge that I should be learning in my free time?

Honestly that doesn't surprise me with them.... But I would have reported it before quitting.
It would have been better if you didn’t quit. Furthermore, what you describe falls along the lines of bullying and creating a hostile work environment and is therefore reportable. Take all your emotions out of the equation, get a labor attorney, and capture the details with timelines to illustrate escalation. Also, you don’t mention whether you were a government employee or a contractor. That also matters as the rules are very different. As a contractor you may not be protected if it’s “At Will” employment and it doesn’t sound as though you spent enough time for there to be an issue with Blending of the Workforce. If you’re were a government employee, were you in your probationary period? All these details were not mentioned in your comments and all have a bearing on your rights in regards to this issue. I wish you luck.
Thanks, I am not going to escalate this issue further. Now that I am unemployed I don’t have money for an attorney. I was a government employee full time and it was a probationary period. I was only there for 3 days until this incident. I felt very threatened at the time and didn’t know what to do. I responded with flight or fight response
Wow, that's awful. I don't personally know how to report that, but you definitely should. Reasonable accommodations are protected legally and it sounds like you were dealing with a really bad situation.
I reached out to HR and waiting to hear back, spoke to EEO and they stated that this is not an EEO issue. Its a terrible experience, I waited forever for this position to start and could have gained other employment if I would have known. Now I got to start all over again and it’s incredibly frustrating and disheartening.
Frist off as you were there only 3 days and probationary I don't think you really have a case, however as you mentioned requesting reasonable accommodation this could fall under ADA and EEO regulations. If you had not quit you could have contacted HR for a resolution, but since you quit only recourse would probably be a lawsuit which I don't think you have much of a chance of winning. Only a lawyer could tell you that. Just a word of advise able requesting accommodations when you first start a job, unless it's medically necessary be very cautious as a probationary they can do just let you go stating the can not accommodate you at this time. Wish you best at you next job
So at my last employer which is the same employer just a different location, I never had this amount of push back. I was only out of federal service for 3 months until HR could get me started, yes the VA takes forever to hire someone. I didn’t have any POC to ask for an accommodation, it was my first day besides going to new employee orientation. I wont be getting a lawyer. Sorta need a job for that. It was just a really terrible incident. I normally don’t need any accommodations, just basically requested not to drive an hour away.
I wouldn't have quit, those jobs are hard to get, you have to fight to keep it. I would have said to myself calm down and let's see how we can make this work in my favor, before quitting. When working for the government, there's lots of training you have to be prepared for and it might be out of the blue, and that's something you have to get used to. As far as the reasonable accommodation you can go to EEO they would help you achieve that, sometimes your boss doesn't know how to accommodate employees that's where EEO comes in they show them. You have to look at the way you see the situation and how you approach it, you want a successful out come. In reference to the tone and manor of your supervisors approach, stress may be behind it, and your approach could be, "I hope you have a better day." Try to see situations in a more positive light, because you don't want to self sabotage. You can't control other people you only control yourself and always try to be kind and treat people how you wanna be treated. Make sure, you file a complaint you might have to look at the Inspector General, if EEO, can't help you.
I also went to EEO after the situation and they couldn’t do anything for me it’s not an EEO issue according to them.

Oh no why did you quit ?!
Prior to this position I worked for the VA for almost 4 years, this would have been my 5th year and wanted to work in other areas or fields eventually. But unfortunately I wont be returning
