I believe you can and you’d be coming in as experienced associate (it could be as 1st year or 2nd year associate) but it won’t just be a campus-hire, but as experienced associate.
Even when I specifically apply to the generalist role that mostly students apply to?
Following up on this, can a employee for EY apply to EYP graduate program? Or would I need to network in?
Network, but please keep in mind that EYP employees getting those kinds of requests a lot. So try to stand out. The best approach would be to have touch points with EYP trough projects or non chargeable work. Once they see your performance (if outstanding) they would definitely like to have those conversations.
If you work at Deloitte, you‘ll probably get ranked as someone with 1YOE if you apply to that role, which is totally fine.
Condition is of course that you have relevant experience so if you work in Audit and want to do corporate growth strategy, I don’t think you’ll get a year.
But the recruiter might have two questions:
If you had the profile for EYP, why did you join Deloitte?
If you did not have the profile, what relevant experience did you get in that year and why does it not qualify you for a non experienced hire position?
But those transfers are happening so as long as you sell yourself right you definitely have a chance, but I’d try experienced hire. Someone from Deloitte regulatory recently joined our team via that track (focussing on the same industry as before) so for example getting sufficient industry knowledge and then applying for that industry increases your chances.
Thanks, you are welcome. If there are no open roles 100% fitting I’d best search for an HR contact for your target office. They can best answer your questions and even appreciate the initiative to ask in order to clear things up. That shows that you are not just applying randomly but with purpose and they might recognize your name on the CV, which might be good if you leave a positive impression.
