She fell in love with a consultant and...

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I believe you need to be employed on Dec 31 the year before, and you still need to be on payroll on the day the bonus payouts are given. So yes, you would forfeit if you leave before the bonus payout. Some people do vacation at the end (if they are close to the bonus payout day) so that they are paid out the bonus.
Yes.
Pfizer’s policy for RSC and bonus payments is being an “employee of record” through 31-Dec.
RSC is a fixed payment. Bonus payments are subject to functional line review and although strictly are paid on prior year performance there will be an element of go-forward incentive in the payment. If you are no longer with the organization by the decision date you may end up with a reduced bonus but I would expect you to get most of it…. If bonus payments are made…
However, it is not assured there will be 2024 bonus payments…. But if you are an employee of record through year end you will get one if they are paid. RSC you will get and that is fixed rate based on age and years of service.
You need to be employed thru dec 31 and if you leave prior to the payout period you’ll get your bonus at 100% at separation irrespective of company performance.
When I was at TESARO (aquired by GSK) I not only passed the 12/31 date, but I also received my award letter that listed my bonus and payoff date and said nothing about having to be there when it was paid out and I gave notice thinking I was solid with the award letter. Nope. I probably could have sued them over it, but then I’d be toast in the industry was my concern. Bye bye 35k!
no - takeda requires that you still work as an employee to the end of the fiscal year (bonus period) not until the bonus pays out. fiscal year ends in March, i left in April, bonus paid in may or june well after I left takeda.
