You paid for the seat, no reason to say you're sorry about the explanation. A simple "no, thank you" will do.
Politely say sorry but I want to stretch my legs.
^agree with above. OP, I just tell them "NO". The NYC accent usually does the trick, if not my reaction seals the deal. There is a reason I am in the aisle seat and being close to your SO, Child, etc., is not going to change my mind.
PS nobody ever asks me :(
