I feel like this is fair. I know folks who make more but 170k is what I make and I have almost the same type and amount of experience
Fair these days for sure. The $200+ days are gone for agency EPs except at a very rare few places.
For sure—I was thinking $180-185k. Thoughts? From what I’ve researched, that’s definitely a fair rate for agency EPs in NYC...
That seems low for the current market. But I am admittedly not privy to too many EP staff salaries. Most EPs I know are raking in high $200-low 300k as freelancers. If I were to go staff I’m not sure I could go back for less than $200k. Maybe $180-185k if it’s a good account there are great benefits plus profit share/equity. But maybe I am being too optimistic?
I made $185K starting salary when I was promoted to EP in NYC (I can’t imagine any less in LA). However, I am now freelancing as an EP and I will never look back! My daily rate has ranged from $1,100-$1,300 a day depending on the scale of the project. There is so much work out there! No reason to go staff. Your best friends are director reps, HOPs reach out to them to see who they know is freelancing. Once you work for one agency and you change your title to freelance on LinkedIn, it’s non stop! Good luck.
