How is the work life balance in cognizant ?
Hi Everyone !!!
This June I completed my 9 months at Career Level 12 and Sub Level 3 I.e, CL 12.3 at Accenture Operations. My Annual Talent Discussion and One-on-One with People Lead is complete as of last week.
I have 3 questions now :
1. When can I expect to move to 12.2 ?
2. What is the general hike I can expect ? And when it is reflected ?
3. When will be the variable pay will be paid out ?
Can anyone here help me with this performance cycle part ? I am really confused.

I’m currently a top performing senior Field Sales Executive selling new business subscription and SaaS into the corporate tech vertical. I live in the DMV area. Hit me up if you’d be willing to help with a referral at Salesforce. Thanks!!

Everybody leaves consulting to become a "product manager" in "tech". Its amazing. There must be like at least 100k product managers milling about in the US.

Hey OP, I will say the pace of output becomes much easier over time.
Just make sure every hour your singular focused on output. I time box every activity to ensure I don’t waste time and produce. It’s worked well for me.

Not amazon but can speak to some:
1. Yes. Amazon is not the best in tech when it comes to wlb but still materially better than your current.
2. Yes.
3. Reasonable yes but I agree I’d push for another 15k
OP. In similar boat. Would like to know what you ended up deciding and why?
Good luck Op, this sounds like a terrible existence to me (I also just read the post about the father who worked hard 50 years)
Hey - no just a first year consultant (actually still a bit under 12 months). I'm comparing TCs for both (base, bonus, sign on etc.)
I’ll also add that once your TC is set let’s say at 300k that’s what they expect you to make assuming the stock gains about 15% per year. So all in with the stock appreciation you’d be expected to make 300+ for all 4 years and likely closer to 340-350 for the back two years. If the stock drops they make up for it to keep you whole. If the stock gains though your base is not rebaselined and it can hurt you getting future RSUs. Also don’t expect future RSU grants above and beyond unless you’re a top performer or until y3 where the rsu grant is supposed to make up your comp for Y5.
Basically your comp after Y5 is performance from 2 years ago. It also means if you don’t perform you’re hitting a massive cliff Y5
Amazon is a large organization and its wlb varies from team to team. Most people I talked to work about 50 hrs a week during non peak and maybe 60’hrs during peak. But some teams may have even worse hours than consulting. Money wise it is hard to evaluate because it also depends on your confidence in the company’s future. Historically every four or five years Amazon stock would experience a huge drastic growth, like we just had in 2020. So the total pay today really only represent the low end of your potential pay.
How is Amazon TC for 250k at L6, seems like a low ball
Honestly I didn’t feel like amazon had great work life balance when I interned. I might have worked fewer hours but i was regularly juggling calls with India, Japan and Europe which made my schedule quite stretched in both directions.
