Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

@OP I would use your words carefully... not sure ‘lied’ is the most politically correct way to word your thought.
That said, two key points to consider:
As a hiring manager, I can vouch that job titles are sometimes pointless. Firstly, grades very widely by agency… What’s considered a manager at one is considered a senior analyst at another.
Secondly, going back to your original question, you should always be working a grade ahead of where you are today. If you aren’t, then you’re coasting.
However, if you feel a strong need to do this on your resume, which I don’t recommend, place your actual job title in parentheses. You’re better off placing the title you think you’re working at in your resume’s headline if design permits.
No. Everyone is doing the work of another position
Because it’s lying. Tell the truth and advocate for what you want from your next position. It’s a small industry and I’ve known many a person to get caught over-selling their work history. You don’t want to be in that position.
If the truth catches up with you, you could lose your job. My BF is a hiring manger and lying on a resume is grounds for dismissal.
Never lie. Look up David Edmonson, former CEO of RadioShack. It's not worth it.
A recruiter changed my title on my resume (without my knowledge) before sending it to someone I had a phone interview with. The phone interview guy was asking all these odd questions and I realized what the recruiter had done. I told the phone guy what my actual title was and he was cool about it but I ghosted that recruiter. I couldn’t believe he had done that
