5%; I was so disappointed. I had a raise of 18% the year I got promoted to senior. However, my relationship partner said 5% of it was related to the promotion. It might vary by group. As part of the milestone award, the Discover program was awesome - OP, enjoy your time there!
In a Midwest market, I will not break 100k base salary in my 2nd year as manager. Unless you are NYC/SF or specialty group, you won't be anywhere close.
You're most likely going to break 100k with a manager promo in a typical market
Associate to senior is a very modest raise - you'll likely be disappointed. Might be possible to break $100k all in as a top performing experienced senior in NYC, in a specialty group, but even then, doubt you'll see six figures until manager.
To OP's second question, I am not in a specialty group. I broke six figure before manager but it wasn't the year of promotion to senior.
In specialty group, not NYC. I think you can break 100k by being a high performing 2nd year+ senior. Not first year senior though. That's what I'm hoping for this year at least....an 8% raise would get me there.
Also, the year I got promoted I was a 1 and got an 18% raise. Friend of mine was a 3, got a12% raise and was also promoted. Year before was a 3 and got 8% raise. So maybe like 5% attrib to rating and 5% attributable to promotion??? Also heard it depends on firm performance that year-as in heard year before promoted seniors got much better raises. So idk. Hope that helps.
Normal progressive at pwc is 6 yrs
@PwC 2 is correct, there is 5% raise directly attributable to the promotion, based on what I was told by my HR rep. The year I was promoted, I had to wait to get my exam results for my pay raise to take effect. My A2>A3 pay raise was 9.7% (rated 2) which only turned into 14.7% after senior promo. Agree that Discover as the "milestone" reward was awesome!!
$0
Thank you for he breakdown. Not gonna lie, that's significantly less than I was expecting. Is it possible to break 100k as a senior or should I throw that goal out the window?
^assuming that you aren't in a specialty group that starts higher to begin with.
SF high performing audit 5th yr sr - did not break 100k after AIP
How long does it take at your firms to get to manager?
There is no set time table to be promoted to Manager. You have to excel at what you do, have a business case for a manager, and you need advocates fighting for you to be a manager. It can take two years, three years, or however long until the RPs at CRT vote yes to promote you.
