Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

So you don’t get paid out PTO when you leave....unlimited pto is a bad thing
A1 you should take a vacation
Said the one firm that recently let people go as part of an accelerated “up or out” to the firm that more recently let people go to better manage the bottom line in alignment with their culture or compassion or something.
Exactly...
My friend, if you think this is a good move for EY, you don’t understand “unlimited PTO” and the consulting dynamics nearly well enough.
Good luck with unlimited PTO when also managing utilization targets.

Did EY utilization goals change? That’s the important question. Unlimited PTO with 85-90% utilization goal is a hum-bug
Don’t give KPMG any more ideas on horrible pto changes...
How does unlimited PTO work? Like can I say I want to take 4 weeks off? And in a few months do the same?
At EY you have to get additional approval for chunks greater than 2 weeks. And you still need to meet your utilization, revenue goals etc which would be hard to do if you were out every other month.
To all the people replying saying joke’s on me, I am at KPMG! Personally just fine with the current plan. :)
Infinitive embraced this 10+ years ago, gives flexibility when needed but also requires a bit of flexibility from employees when big deadlines are near.
Seems like you’re going from being entitled to vacation to having no vacation entitlement.
I had unlimited pto at my last job, definitely not good. You actually end up not using anymore than you had before and you don't get paid out when you leave. Good luck!

But does PTO affect utilization? Who needs “unlimited” PTO if it impacts your year end performance
Here your PTO effects util.
unlimited pto as long as you take your laptop and phone with you everywhere
If you have unlimited PTO, then you get nothing paid out when you leave.... power money move for EY disguised as an employer perk.
unlimited PTO is horrible for employees. Please KPMG your move, to stay put
I thought EY stopped paying out for PTO a year or two ago
Quit before this becomes policy
Wait what?!
Are they paying out existing balances?
When I worked at oracle and they moved to unlimited vacation, you had to use your remaining balance before you tapped into the “unlimited pool”. Most states this doesn’t matter since they either don’t have to pay out or you can lose the balance at the end of the year. This was more for states that you cannot lose your PTO balance (still capped) like California.

Can you use PTO when you’re on the bench now? Are you ever really on the bench? 🤔
Wait till you see the emails
Unlimited PTO = no more real PTO.
Good luck getting offline!
