I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. Need some advice. Currently 32 YO with $23.7k in student loans, $60k in retirement, and $54k in cash. Want to pay off loans by end of year, max out 401k, and save for a house. Does it make sense to use $10k from pension to pay down loans and the rest from cash? How much should I have in my 401k by this point?

I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

I’m wondering how much influence the first manager has since I’m not sure what he’s writing
