Hello! I'm in internal HR as a HRBP but am looking to get into HR Consulting in the next 2-3 years. Among the Big 4 Accounting Firms and Big 3 (MBBs), which has the best HR Consulting practice?

What’s appropriate/creative to say if a recruiter asks what makes you want to move from one big 4 to another?

Is it possible to land a financial analyst position with only 6 months of experience in audit? I tried to stick it out w/ B4 but I don’t think I can do it anymore. I’m interested in duties like budgeting/forecasting, but haven’t come across very many entry level positions. I’m mostly seeing entry level jobs that are called “financial analyst” but include duties like JE/reconciliations. I don’t have SQL/Tableau experience either... so not sure if I just need more experience in a diff role first?

For those who left a big 4 for in house, how do the comp, hours, and work compare? I’m a senior associate, major market, likely will be partner in the next couple of years, and love the work—but I’m getting really frustrated by the comp and firm management. I’m in the early stages of thinking through various options.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

How do I get into consulting? I’ve literally gotten referrals for 3/4 B4 companies and still can’t get in. Does anyone have any advice?

I was on a partner/manager call today and they were discussing the “high” turnover at the senior and experienced associate level. What was shocking is that while ours is about double normal, evidently we are 3 out of 4 in turnover meaning 2 of the Big 4 are even higher.

I interviewed at KPMG on 11/14 and got a verbal offer the next day but since then waiting to hear from them. Been following up continuously but the partners are not replying it seems. In the meanwhile i have an offer from BT offering 90k for 4 yrs of experience which seems to be fair. I am just unsure whether to accept the offer as I was waiting for kpmg reply as I want B4 on my resume which apparently is a big deal. Is BT also good on resume for future employers ??
