Is it viewed as “not good” to go back to my alma mater for MBA? It’s a top 40 business school and got me into B4 consulting easily. School has strong recruiting presence in the region I want and I have a full ride for their FT program. Appreciate any thoughts!
Have the option to transfer to Canada (Vancouver/Toronto/Montreal) and keep my US salary or to London at a 10% paycut. My current salary is 100K USD which will be ~65K GBP if London and ~125K CAD if Canada. Obviously my salary will go further in Canada but London sounds too cool to pass on. So my main question is: will living on 65K in London be comfortable enough that I just do it for the experience? Currently in NYC at 3 yoe and will go back to the US after 1 year for MBA. Please advise!

For all the US colleagues: A fellow consultant was doing his MBA in the US. He left in a hurry due to covid and came back to London, but didn’t close his bank account with Santander and left $6-7K. Now the bank says that you can NOT transfer the money to another UK bank with online banking and you need to be physically present at one of their branches to do so. He is not planning to go back for a year. Any advice?

What is with people at EVP level who use efficiency as an excuse to be curt and unkind? Bonus points if you can explain why they’d humiliate coworkers in front of the client.
Posted a few days ago about lateraling to a firm to work for a rain maker and having been put on a deal with him alone (first deal at the new firm). Subsequent to the scolding emails we finally managed to almost close at 18:00 on Friday only to realise that the numbers didn’t add. The same document that I screwed up before led to one entity paying the wrong amount. I’ve never ran a deal alone as a first year and the partner has been MIA for most of the deal. Long story short (cont in comments) -
I’ve been in consulting for years & every time I’m about to start a new project, I get really nervous. It gets better after I dive in but I hate that initial feeling. Does this happen to anyone else?

Would anyone have insights on this? Much appreciated!
