Yes, absolutely. I’ve found that the most important difference is that your employer is no longer selling your creative work to a client as a product, which greatly reduces the pressure on creatives. Coming from agencies, I’ve found this to mean an emphasis on “good” above “fast”. Highly recommend making the switch!

Client side would be great if you can work remotely. I worked in house a few years ago and the hours were good, work was easy, pay was OK, but the corporate culture was stifling. They enforced business casual attire and were highly process driven. The biggest problem was that I worked in a creative department run by corporate execs who didn’t have a real grasp on what we did and didn’t hire competent creative leadership.
I’m brand side- I started out life in a shit agency and we were abused within an inch of our lives.
There ain’t nothing fast-paced about my brand side work. Our launches are usually measured in months. I do an average of 20hrs of actual design work a week.

Yah. The issue isn’t “is it easier” - the issue is where is the opportunity for growth and on work that you’re proud of and is inspiring.
