History of BCG layoffs anyone?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I’ve been in the workforce for 15 years, with four different jobs. My wife has been in HR just as long. I have never ever heard of a company that would share the reason for separation or compensation. Dates of employment and job title are all anyone will share. Saying that you were terminated for performance or for cause opens up a company to lawsuits. Nobody wants that.

Bcg 1 is correct. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen, employers will not indicate why you’re no longer in the role.
Nah you’re good. Never disclose terminations.

What is the specific question on the background check?
If there is a space asking why you left, I’d just say “left to go to X job”
It’s irrelevant why you left. Usually employeers only verify employment and title. Maybe salary and sometimes if you are “rehirable” which getting laid off should not impact

I’d leave it blank or check resign if a mandatory field.
My last background check asked for starting and ending salaries. I left them all blank..
grave digging here but did you end up putting laid off or discharged and did you end up getting the job?
