Hello All, I have offer in hand of 27.5 LPA+15% variable from ZS Associates as a BT Solutions delivery consultant and now my current company is ready to retain me by matching the offer & assuring that they will send me onsite to UK in couple of months. Now I am in a dilemma of what to do as I have been looking for onsite opportunities for my entire career so far. Kindly share your thoughts. It may depending on role but it won't go down. The company model going forward is more like industry: small increases in non-promo years, biggest raises by far in promotion years. Bonuses tend to be decent at least at higher levels. Beware cuts and outsourcing, though security seems to be growing fast right now.
IFS pays less for same position. They won't decrease your pay but don't expect increases.
How do we as a firm retain talent if raises are going to be comparable to industry raises?
The rule of thumb in consulting firms is that if you are not in a client facing, profit generating role then you're not really part of the firm. Lower pay, lower bonuses, not part of the club. Different policies and treatment and less job security.
No, this is more of a strategic role.
I would imagine there are differences in salaries for client facing roles and non CFR. Unless it's a tour of duty, I think you would be subject to the non CFR salary. Just my best guess. I don't know for sure.
similar question - thanks for posting OP - what about at M and D levels ? is it similar ? as a SA can i interview for M level roles ?
Beware the word "strategy" in an internal position.
As a senior, don't ruin your career track by taking an internal role
P6 why do you think that?
I disagree with EY1. As some in an internal role at Kpmg I have undoubtedly more job security and you can move up just as fast at the lower levels. Salaries are roughly the same. Maybe a little smaller but we work far less hours. Bonuses are smaller though
I'd say a totally different set of politics to play with
KPMG1 when times get tough they'll cut you first. If you aren't generating revenue you're dispensable. If you don't think that then continue living the dream; its cold reality in this business.
That's not at all true where I work. It's commonly known that contractors and consultants are the first to go.
It is very hard to get rid of people in ktech
Especially in cyber security which is what I do....I hands down have better job security than you.
