Our timeline has definitely increased. That’s very accurate. While adding more rounds does lengthen the process, it doesn’t feel like that’s the main cause of the delay. It seems like we’re often searching for the “perfect” candidate, and sometimes I genuinely feel that the candidates we have in front of us are as good as it gets.
This is so counterintuitive! I thought that with all the tooling that recruiters have in place right now, it would at least halve the time to hire! That's literally one of the KPI that AI vendors boost on their marketing.
Looking for the perfect candidate lasts as long as there are people still working in the team...
Yep, that's definitely on par with what I'm observing. The process is taking longer overall. It's a big mixture of companies being a lot more risk-averse and wanting to conduct a ton of rounds before hiring, as well as teams being short-staffed and taking longer to get back to us. Among other things.
Do you think AI is to be blame for the short handed staff?
I’m seeing longer timelines too. Many teams add more rounds and feedback steps, and decision handoffs take longer, which stretches the process out.
