For people that have been in the IT audit/IT risk space for some time specifically in industry and not PA. Have you noticed a significant amount of layoffs during the past recession? I have been hearing a lot of people say that the layoffs are not as common in our areas even in recession.

What are your expenses/time horror stories? Has anyone gotten fired in relation to expenses? Compensation withheld?

I've recieved an offer from Morgan Stanley, my previous salary was around 6 Lpa and last offered was around 15 Lpa (WFH), I quoted 40 to 45% on top of that around 22 Lpa considering Mumbai location, WFO and Glassdoor pay range.

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.
