Anyone successfully paid their car off with a credit card by buying visa debit gift cards and doing so over the phone with auto finance dept? I’m looking into this cuz staples has a no fee promotion on $200 debit cards but run into a hiccup if I can’t merge a bunch onto one card so I only pay the $4 pay by phone fee once. Any advice?
It feels so nice to be traveling internationally. Using the Batman for its intended purpose. Back at ORD United Club with a decent beer, then two months traversing Europe.
Frontier Airlines $38 one way tickets: 👍 or 👎?
Has anyone traveled American Airlines recently and had to weigh their stroller? I’m reading now the gate check weight limit is 20lbs and really don’t want to check it at the counter.
What's the best industry to work in with this remote work environment? I feel like travel made Consulting worth it, now I'm not sure to think.
What’s the best carrier if I will be traveling ORD-LGA every week for the year? Been thinking about switching from AA (Platinum Pro) to Delta (Platinum Medallion).
If I purposely miss a flight. Can I still request to get the skymiles associated since I did in fact pay for the ticket?
Does anyone know someone that lives the consultant travel life, out of a van? I’d love to be able to bike and ski non-stop on the weekends
Boarding the flight to ORD for the third time. Delayed 4 hours already. The one day when I had an approved early departure time to go home. Cmon Chicago. Help me out here.
I wanted to apply for credit cards to get bonus points. My credit scores are 799 with equifax and 798 with TransUnion. Have 4 hard inquiries still on the record. My application for the amazon credit card got declined last March when my score was a bit lower and got ~6 hard inquiries. Personally I think it sucks that we won't find out if the credit card application is accepted or declined until the credit is hard pulled. Is there a more reliable way to be sure of the application being accepted?
Marriott didn’t let my deliveroo driver into the hotel as “it’s against policy to have outside food delivered”....anyone else had same problem?
Delta flight delayed and will miss the connecting flight. Got put on a Alaskan flight. 2.5 delay to the destination. How many extra miles can I ask for? Not sure if it matters but Silver Med
Is it rational to want to leave because I don't want to travel? Been on the bench & it has me thinking that something local would be much more suitable for me. Should I explore firm options first?
Anyone has extra to be expired United plus points willing to share? I can try to reimburse you with some case/gift card?
AA tells us that bags may need to be checked because this is a full flight...they later realized they are getting a huge plane last minute and they already put over a dozen people in hotel rooms -_-
MC with acctg/finance background and 6 YOE in fin transformation, process enhancement, mgmt reporting and financial data. Light data analysis and process automation focus. CPA, but no MBA. What is a realistic exit role? It seems like most recommendations are focused on strategy and tech, but it feels like I'm only qualified for financial analysis roles. Somewhat new to the bowl, so I'm hoping for some perspective.
I had a 1st round interview last week and I didn’t love the sound of the job. It’s in higher ed. It would also be a 20k pay cut (105 -> 85). They want to do a final round with me this week. During the interview, the director who would be my manager said they are understaffed and very busy. She also said someone in this role needs to love working. I don’t necessarily want to transition to another busy place for a pay cut. The only perk I see is the time off university staff get and tuition...comt
Flew United Toronto to Boston and then air canada (also part of star alliance) Boston to toronto. Flights were roughly the same price but I got a quarter of the United points. Should I only fly United
How do you exit without burning bridges? I don't have any motivation to leave work in a good spot. I just want to leave.
CMT vs CAIA? I currently work in sales for an asset manager and have an MBA. Would like a designation, one that’s applicable to asset management and has some status/recognition. Appreciate any thoughts or insights. (Also dont want to take CFA)
Working with a VP who I’m fairly certain doesn’t like me- he tells me I’m a high performer but makes snide jabs constantly. Worth it to have an honest conversation or should I try to roll off?
Anyone here from Capgemini Invent that I can discuss a role with, and potentially get a referral from?
Any thoughts on the MBA program at Boston University? Is Boston University MBA good enough for positions at FAANG or MBB? And what about the MBA program at MIT?
Any thoughts on a $45K offer for an AE role in Chicago without any health benefits? Offer is $10K below the lowest number I specified when asked for a salary range. Kind of bummed. Honest opinions plz
Publicis sapient 11lpa (fixed) Nagarro 12.75 lpa (fixed) Yoe 3.2 Which one should I choose as a Java developer? If Publicis sapient matches Nagarro salary which one would be better from career and learning perspective? Need your suggestions badly.
What roles do consultants actually exit to at Amazon. Whenever I read job descriptions for non tech roles I don’t see a lot of overlap with types of experience you get from consulting (except maybe tech consulting roles). Should I somewhat ignore required experience when looking to get a referral for a role, and instead just target the right level? Amazon
My flight last night got cancelled on delta (first delayed) until the next day due to maintenance issues. How many miles?!
Returned from LOA and it’s so hard getting back to the travel routine — have zero energy or desire to leave the hotel room after work or redevelop an exercise routine
DCA airport. Thank god for my tsa pre-check. I have been diamond for three years. Now I am gold; Other than silver, I feel like a plebian. Thoughts?
Long run what pays more MBB or FAANG ?
How do you all think remote working is influencing gender dynamics in your teams? I wonder if/how relying on virtual comms with no in-person interactions will help or hurt things.
Expecting and offer from Accenture soon as Manager in their cloud practice. What is the salary, bonus, RSU I should expect. Just want to be better informed prior to negotiating.
Do vendors provide the agency with a pre-pro book prior to the shoot if it’s a simple drop kit, taking head? Not sure if there’s a need for it since it’s not a complicated shoot (single cam, direct shot to talent answering questions) but wanted to get a sense. Client wants a meeting the day before the shoot to talk about the production (which we have done a few times already), so not sure if it makes sense to have a formal PPB for this meeting. Thoughts?
