It’s times like these... when I am dialing into a client call on a Saturday of a holiday weekend at my grandparent’s house...that quitting seems like the only option.

In the same boat, consulting ain’t worth it. A few more $$$ won’t make me happy if I am always working on things I don’t even enjoy anymore

like

Good question C1. If I had the power to make my client not have a call I would. She wants to have a call so she is going to have one no matter what I say

like

Why is there a need for the call? Is it truly something cannot wait until Monday?

like

Have a team working the holiday weekend due to a 1/1 go live. Meetings would only be scheduled if necessary. No calls yet. Email only. What the heck does she want updates on that can't be done though email... Jesus.

Shit like that is why I switched to federal consulting. It’s not sexy but if you’re like me the work was never that interesting anyways, at least I only put in ~40 hours a week. There’s light on the other side, whether it be industry other consulting options. It is possible to have a comfortable lifestyle while making decent money

like

Are you an analyst? If so that sucks and your manager needs to learn to set boundaries

like

You’d be surprised at what happens when you learn to start saying “no”, tactfully. Bring in your leadership team if needed, but someone should have the backbone with the client to draw the line here.

like

Except pay raises and in demand skillet in federal isn't the same as commercial...huge trade offs but do agree you will get a balance working in federal that's unbecoming of regular commercial consulting.

like

Done both Fed or commercial....not much different

A4 - for me it has been a huge different, I used to work on average 50%+ more hours. As far as skill set I don’t find it that different for what Accenture does

I’m in Federal and basically work all the time. Worked every day this holiday weekend (albeit not 8 hours) and do 7/730 to 630/730 daily. I don’t know why people think Fed is easy.

Just don’t join the call, what’s the worse that can happen

D2 - people think federal is easy because it generally is, sounds like you’re on a shitty project

A3 actually I’ve been at the firm 11 years and have never had an easy schedule. People who don’t do significant BD night work a straight 45 but that’s never been the case for me.

Hey Cyber friends! I’m a life long professional creative looking to get out. I’m fascinated by Cybersec/Infosec and have been learning a small amount. Tryhackme + YouTube + beginning to learn some python. However, I’m well aware that these baby steps don’t compare to the real job.

My questions: do you like what you do? Would you recommend the field or your discipline to a friend? What is the best and worst part of your job? Grateful for any and all responses. Thanks for letting me lurk! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Would moving from a firm to an employee relations position mean that I never secure an in-house employment law position? Or would such a move better position me to go in-house one day? I am having difficulty transitioning from a labor & employment firm to an in-house role, and so I am exploring alternatives while keeping in mind my future career trajectory.

Hello,

I have cleared interview with Wipro a month ago and after 15 days I received a simple mail from HR saying you are selected.

Since that day, there is no communication from HR team of Wipro . I tired of sending multiple emails and when I tried to call he always declines my call.

Between director of respected technology is reaching me and he wants me to join ASAP and take over the project work.

What should I do now?

Thanks

My interview got over on June 29th right after the interview the recruiter called me and told I’m selected and they will be sending the offer letter.
