I was contacted by a recruiter about a job writing ads for a gun manufacturer. First I said I’d think about it. Then she got back to me and I’d had some time to think it over. Now I’m a real estate agent.
Who’s the recruiter?
I used to want to avoid Pharma. I didn't think it was bad or anything, just was worried about the "Golden Handcuffs." Now, the amount of business and stability Pharma provides looks pretty damn good...
The only difference between Nike and Monsanto is the quality of their advertising. There is no clean capitalism. Do what you need to in order to pay your bills and take care of your family.
Everyone has a choice.

Would never work on the Republican Party campaign, unless I could potentially do something to sabotage their chances of winning. Although they’re doing a pretty good job of that on their own - hopefully.
I haven’t worked since the shutdown and turned down a freelance job working with a client who maybe isn’t unethical, but is a known terror, and was managed by a team that is top-to-bottom dysfunctional. Worked with them before and swore never again. Money is hard to come by right now, but so is sanity.
Good move and I would do the same. It’s who you work with that can make all the difference. It’s just not worth the stress and misery for abusive clients as well as agency folks.
There is pretty much nothing I wouldn’t do to ensure my child had a roof over her head and food on the table.
Your job isn’t just to put food on the table - you also need to set a good example. If you do that, maybe you’ll raise a child who is NOT willing to do anything, no matter how unethical, for money.
That is a great question.

I spent most of 2018 unemployed. I got offered an interview with an agency where’re i would work on cigarettes and I said no. Also once told my agency I wouldn’t work on an Army pitch.
End of last year I gave in and took a pharma job. I absolutely hate it but I love being able to afford things for my family.

I actually find the people to be relatively pleasant for advertising. Just the work is boring as shit.
Monsanto and tobacco are still on my “no” list, and I’ve avoided job postings that mention tobacco clients.
I left agency world about 2 yrs ago with the intention of never going back. When the pandemic hit agency world was the only job I could get. Bills gotta get paid so I’m back for the time being.
I never wanted to work on verizon again. Reconsidering.
A maybe for tobacco but a hard no for Monsanto? 🤔
Cigarettes = no because I just can’t.
Oil = yeah cos I have to support a family
