I joined KGS in feb 2022, we recently got a mail regarding timeline of appraisal and bonus payout from the partner. My reporting manager hasn't yet reached out to me regarding goal setting, not sure if that happens here. Can you pls help me to know what all things we need to do from our end for the appraisal cycle and bonus payout? Since I'm new to this company KPMG KPMG India

Another vote for PTO. This is one of the most important perks to me. I was able to negotiate from 20 to 28, which was one of the main reasons I ended up taking the job. I have no family in state, so I use a good amount of PTO each year traveling to see them.
PTO and remote days are the top 2. More remote days will pay off in less transport costs and a change of scenery that is good for the mind, while extra PTO will give you more vacation time or extra long weekends for errands or relaxation. The point is to boost work/life balance and even save more money in the process.
Honestly, negotiating extra PTO was one of the best things I ever did. A few extra days a year made a bigger difference to my sanity than a slightly higher salary would have. If it feels like too much to ask, just frame it around how it helps you perform at your best — that helped me.
I was able to negotiate a few days of working remotely, which my company typically is not a big fan of. They're much more old school, "everyone needs to be in the office at their desk" kind of vibe, but I really thrive when I'm working alone at home, so the fact that I was able to get a hybrid schedule worked out was great for my work ethic and mental health.
Yep I did a combo of the two.. I negotiated some extra PTO AND more remote work time and that made the biggest difference long-term. Honestly, those perks mattered more to my happiness than a slightly higher salary would’ve. If you make a persuasive case, most companies are happy to do some negotiation beyond just salary
PTOs, stock options for certain mid-senior job levels, flexible /hybrid working model, etc.
Extra FTO for sure
I hae nver negotiated anything other than salary but I have friends who negotiated jore PTO and I wish that I had done that to be honest. Also a sign on bonus is always really great if you can get them to tive you one.
I have never negotiated salary if it fit to myself
