A couple ways that I have seen in ComOps.
1. Connection through a prior client (straight to PE)
2. Recruiter reached out via linked in
3. Work for portco but hired by PE eg platinum VPT
But at the SD level it’s kind of an odd spot to move to PE. At manager or early director going into a VP role could make sense.
- 7ish years at T2 doing M&A and Strategy
- 3ish years of being an executive at PE-backed company
- Left to PE Ops and was sourced by a recurring firm - most of these are gatekept by them
Congrats on promo!
How much would you make at PE Ops vs. as a SD in your current group?
Somebody is thinking out loud. 😂
Isn’t SD when comp gets even more serious over there?!
