For those who exited from a Big 4 at manager, what was your salary increase %? I can’t survive AWM much longer and planning on leaving as soon as I get my promo milestone bonus next April.

I spent two years as an associate and another two at senior, have my CPA but no master’s.

Not sure how much industry cares about a master’s degree.

100%

I was. Welcome to getting promoted in a COVID year and as an early promote. Makes it easy to get a sweet raise on the outside.

I've only heard bad things about PwC's AWM group. What do they do and why is it so horrible?

As a newbie associate, I worked 85-95+ hours/week for the 9/15 deadline.

The hours have gotten worse since then, but not because I moved up. The associates and seniors below me now were also hitting 105 hours some weeks this year.

I’m in SALT-AWM specifically, so state and local tax for Asset and Wealth Management. Lots and lots of state returns and small consulting projects for huge investment bank type firms.

And we still have a 10/15 deadline as well as spring busy season which are “lighter” at 70ish hours a week.

I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

Why do leaders keep comparing how “good”the new staff/seniors have it because they make more money starting out then they did and working 55 hours is better than the 70-80 hours they used to work? Instead they should compare what options they have available to them and what their goals are.
