My firm typically does insurance defense, but we take plaintiffs cases here and there. Is it typical that work done by associates on contingency cases isn’t counted toward their billable hour requirements unless and until we receive our fee on the case? This is my first experience with this, but it’s hard for me to reach my hours as is, without spending time on non billable cases like this with no assurance that I’ll see billable credit at the end.

Does anyone else just not even want to be a people manager anymore?! The amount of work this is taking, I’m just so over it. I first started noticing difficulties in articulating my thoughts at university and my career in consulting has only made this more prominent. I had to get a hysterectomy at age 39 due to endometriosis (stage 4). I’m 42 now & greatly suffering from menopause. One doctor said that going on hormone therapy greatly increases my risk for endometriosis to return and become cancerous however another doctor told me this isn’t an exact science. Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed).
