Everyone is different. Two of my family had this. One did hrt. The other did not due to the type of breast cancer. I recommend getting a recommendation from an oncologist or doing (gulp) some of your own research. Also, your surgeons opinion on whether he got it sll or it soread to other organs might factor in. Either way, i hope you get the answers you need. I wish you good health.
No cancer. Thank you!
🤔 if you don't have a uterus how can you get endometriosis? I'm pretty sure endometriosis is caused by uterine tissue growing outside the uterus.
I had a hysterectomy at 41. I'm 59 and have been on HRT ever since. Just starting to wean off of it because I'm sure I don't need it anymore. I haven't had any issues with it, but I'm not a Doctor and everyone is different.
I am having a hysterectomy next month at 41 due to endo. We plan to save the ovaries if possible. I feel each Dr has their own opinion. What I understand is that the hormones produced by the ovaries is what causes the endo. So starting them will increase likelihood of reoccurance. But if you do not have a family history of cancer, I'd consider the hrt and just keep regular check ups with the prescribing dr
I had endometriosis too. No hysterectomy, but I had early menopause and I was definitely on HRT at 42. Now 48 and I tried a different formulation (patches) and I’m back to bleeding, and cramps. I’m trying to find a doctor that listens better and works with me on the dosage because it can be tricky finding the right levels. My sister-in-law swears by acupuncture, but I haven’t tried that yet. I do believe that it is possible to get just enough estrogen to keep menopausal symptoms manageable without triggering endometrial growth. I went a few years without so much as spotting, but my current HRT has me thinking hot flashes weren’t so bad.
So sorry to hear that….
I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure/Early Menopause at age 28. I went through terrible menopause symptoms. My doc said the risks for me (cancer, osteoporosis, etc) were greater if I didn't do HRT. Plus, I was an avid runner but was so exhausted I could barely walk up the stairs. I took HRT for about 25 years but recently stopped at age 53. Now going through the symptoms again! At your young age, I'd think you would need HRT. But yes, of course ask a doc! Sorry you are going through this!
I'm getting a hysterectomy in 2 weeks and I'm 52. It's due to pre- cervical cancer that I've been dealing with for 12 years. I'm going through menopause now so I'll see what happens. Ovaries are staying. Not sure if HRT will be needed.
