Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Nothing. I’m making more $$, completely remote, never needed in agency team building meetings/activities, and just get to concentrate on the work. Why would I ever go back?
I’ve actually had a hard time getting hired back… I get interviews easily, but agencies are like “you’ve been freelance for 4 years, why should we hire you to manage people?”
CD1 that is exactly what I would want to hear from a Creative Director, who wants to come back full-time. If I hear that someone is missing the mentorship, the inspiration and the community - that would mean a lot.

CD5 Last two years have been great. Made money freelancing all while producing work good enough to add to portfolio. But this is unlikely to continue. I think my equity will grow faster if I dedicate the next couple of years being a creative lead on the brand side. Things are looking turbulent at the moment. It would be nice to ride it out at a company that's unlikely to be raddled🤞
I’d go back to get away from my family 24/7
Ha. I just go and work in a work space. It also has a gym and pool etc.
They call me and say “we have your dogs and we’re holding them hostage.”
