Max that 401k get all the tax benefits, then Roth IRA. Then do a HSA (if you are off your parents insurance), then brokerage last. This way as you make more money you actually have more investing and spending money. No worries on having to ever contribute more towards your retirement.
Analyst 1 has got it! I also think it helps to prioritize saving over spending.
Fine to make ends meet (as you effectively are) fresh out of college. You’re doing great!

I went through a couple years at analyst pay after moving to HCOL where I was neutral/saving a couple grand after 401k. Three years later and I should be saving 50k+ even after maxing 401. Keep up the good habits and you’ll see the number grow as your salary does

As you are in your first job, prioritize 401k up to the firm match, then your IRA, your income will never be lower (therefore, same with your taxes), then HSA if applicable, then max 401k
Don’t rush, even saving 5k a year is better than 95% of people under 30, 10k is probably in the top 1%, it’s shocking how little the average person saves
Thanks! Didn't realize I should be putting excess savings past the employer match into an IRA instead of 401k, will read up on that
