Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

My god I cannot wait to ditch this toxic environment and work somewhere small that doesn't see you as a number.
When people are fired at Bain, they get ~3 months "transition" in lieu of severance. During that time, you are unstaffed but still a salaried employee and keep your computer and badge, etc. Even if you don't get transition they don't kick you out of the building after they fire you. Man...
I would hazard a guess at steal a lot of methodology/frameworks
They fired someone on their bday!!
Legend has it, during layoffs in 08, people at D were asked to goto mailroom to get a package and then asked to leave
MBB benefits shit on the rest of the world...good to hear Bain1!
Exactly Bain. It's only an issue if you feel that the person is unstable or violent. For most people getting walked out just makes them angrier. This is almost archaic in this day and age. More people will do damage through social media than anything else. It won't be inside the company.
WTF, they make you leave immediately? You can't go to your desk and say good-bye? Is this common?
Damn..that is awesome Bain1. Excellent benefits.
Yeah I pretty sure we don't even get severance at Deloitte.
Lots of IP, lots of client contacts. A partner I worked with and got to know well dealt with a major issue from a terminated employee with one of his clients. To the point where the clients claimed beach of contract of mid 6 figures and the firm had to go after the guy legally. Even after taking his computer and badge.
😩
Guess so...this is what I was told
It's petty normal, termination frequently includes getting escorted out immediately
Especially in some firms but boy does that suck for this person.

It's usually 6 weeks D1 in consulting.
What's the rationale for doing this in consulting? I know they do this in trading, since they are concerned a recently fired employee would make bad trades out of spite and lose the firm millions of dollars. But what's a consultant going to do? Worst case scenario is they make a scene, right?
Any PwC 🐠 know if we get severance? Probably should know this...
@DD1, to clarify, this incident happened after they took his computer and badge, right? If so, that's my point. If you really want to screw over your firm, you can do it after you are out of the building. Escorting you out doesn't do much. And 99.9% of people aren't going to pull a stunt and risk getting sued / getting arrested / destroying their firm network.
